There was more to building this barn than this but here are the high spots!

FirstArial.jpg (22265 bytes) This is the first Arial picture I ever took of our newly acquired acre lot next to Fergie's Field.  It's the one on the end you can't pick out 'cause it's not cleared yet!

Barn_3.jpg (26128 bytes)   The foundation's down, the blocks are four coarse high.  I'm doing a good job laying the block but it's taking me forever because I've never laid block before.

Barn_5.jpg (30934 bytes) I've got the trusses built and standing on pressure treated 2X10's to keep them off the slab.

Barn_7.jpg (29922 bytes) Here's the front wall, it's ready to be set.  It was the last frame to be built and the first to be sat on the walls.  The door opening is six feet high.

Barn_9.jpg (25927 bytes) The finished building. The dimensions are 27'8"X37'8" and stands 18 ft high.   The first floor has an inside head clearance of 10ft due to the truss design.

Barn_1.jpg (28683 bytes) We had the land cleared then rented a backhoe to finish the site prep.  I couldn't spell backhoe much less operate one, but I'm a quick study. That's me sitting on the roll bar.

Barn_4.jpg (29666 bytes)  After a few more courses, I hired the rest out.  I still struck the joints though.  Here the sliding door is hung from roller channel anchored to the top plate.

Barn_6.jpg (31085 bytes) The weather was a real concern because It took a while for me to build these trusses.  I used a lot of six mil plastic.

Barn_8.jpg (32251 bytes) The crane just pulled away and the trusses are up.  Oh yea, I still drive that 74 El Camino today.  Wish we still had that Charger though!

Barn_10.jpg (27749 bytes) Now it's time to build the house.  But that's another link!
