His first car was our project car

The car wasn't in bad running condition when we bought it but it needed a lot of work

Camaro381.jpg (37106 bytes) We had to pull the engine & transmission to facilitate the removal of four exhaust manifold bolts that had sheared off flush with the heads.  While we had the engine out, we change the rear main seal and other gaskets and seals that would be a bear to change in the car.

Camar398.jpg (20291 bytes) The car is in primer just before top coat application.  I  used  black 6 mil construction plastic as barrier material so I could do the wet sanding without having to remask

Camaro403.jpg (20041 bytes) The 4th coat is going on here.  I paint with a drop light  because I judge from the glare from the surface being painted to determine the amount of paint to shoot..

Camaro447.jpg (19074 bytes) The ground effects are painted and mounted as are the front and rear plastic panels.   The wheel wells got a fresh coat of undercoating. Makes the finished car look better.

Camaro468.jpg (29372 bytes) He's been driving it about a month an a half or so and I'm happy to see that he's taking very good care of it.

Camaro385.jpg (25358 bytes) This is after it was back together and running.  We pulled it into the hangar, put it up on jack stands and tore it apart for painting.  Most of the interior came out so we could remove the ground effects.  While it was out, we replaced the headliner and dashboard.

Camaro399.jpg (21026 bytes) The first coat is just about on.  Bud's taking the pictures and I guess he forgot to take some as the red paint went  over the yellow primer

Camaro424.jpg (22915 bytes) The paint job is done, the masking is off and now it's time to put it back together.  The front and rear rubber pieces aren't painted yet nor are the ground effects.

Camaro462.jpg (30604 bytes) The finished product!   I thought I'd take a few pictures of it like this before he started driving it because I didn't know how long it would stay this way.
