The foundation's ready to pour. This is the front porch with the garage in the
background. This is known as a floating slab.
The slab's down and ready for the framers to come in. The garage is in the
foreground with the front porch on the left.

The framers are done. The electricians are done with their rough-in and it's time
for me to go to work. I hung all of the insulation and these three doors and frames.

I insulated the garage just in case we ever decided to convert it into a room in the
future. It holds the heat from the cars in real well too...one of my dumber ideas!

I'm putting the cabinets in the kitchen and building the countertop in the foreground.
That's a pass through window to the breakfast nook in the background.

Here's a shot before the house was
done...

This is the back porch on the left. You can see the 6 mil plastic, the 10 X 10 wire
mesh and the plumbing sticking up out of the plastic.
I double checked everyone's measurements. I put down
1 X 4's and painted along both sides to show where the walls will go before the
framers got on site.

I spray foamed all of the pipes that were inside the walls prior to the sheet rock going
on to minimize plumbing noise threw out the house. (This ain't finished here)

And of course everything has to meet the approval of the Inspections Department.
Here's the better half with her flashlight in hand providing help & a lot of
moral support.

I've got all of the appliances in place and the floor in. Shortly after this, we
changed the counter top to a green marble and papered the walls. (After we moved in)

And here's one after the house was
done!
